The Curious Case of Forrest Gump

Benjamin Button was great. I also enjoyed it 15 years ago when they called it Forrest Gump. Video highlights similarities between the two movies.

From Talkshow with Spike Feresten.

Ok, yeah, there are a few similarities there...

They gloss over a lot of differences however.

Still, I did enjoy each film. Button was really good, with some fine acting all round in it.

Someone needs to make the same comparison with Dark City and The Matrix.

1.City of illusion that undergoes changes to suit a puppet-master approach of control.

2.Chosen one who is approached by a group that can see the truth through a mirage. Becomes the only one who can change things once he understands that all around him is an illusion.

3.Antagonists that maintain a parasitic relationship with all of mankind while they're kept completely ignorant to their purpose.

I'm not even going to get into similarities between Parts: The Clonus Horror and The Island.

yeah, driving home after seeing it I was describing the film to a friend on the phone and realized it was basically Forest Gump but more depressing... a lot of moments where somebody tells Button a poetic and prophetic piece of advice to live your life by in 30 words or less, like people just do that all the time.
