oritteroposays...Interesting looking gizmo, but it doesn't seem a whole lot faster than just splitting them with an axe.
chingalerasays...Yeah, and not much safer than a conventional splitter...but kinna cool in the "build another mouse trap" category
Stormsingersays...First one -did- look safer, until they showed how difficult it is to get a log started. All that pressure on the log is just a disaster waiting to happen.

I thought the same. All you'd need is a decent lever though, and you could just cinch it right on to the mechanism.
Cool though. My family had a logsplitter when I was a kid, and even then I always thought it was a ridiculously inefficient design.
