westysays...WTF what a waist of money instead of caring for the dead why not spend all this money and time on people who are alive and in need of mental health treatment. i guess this all has a important psychological pourpouse of making people think its good/acceptable/ohnrable to die in war.
charliemsays..........
War is evil, and in almost every case in RECENT history, its been unjust. But the soldiers play no part in whether they go to war or not, their purview in enlisting is first and foremost the protection of sovereign territories from enemies foreign and domestic.
They play no part in the political bullshit that gos on in the background, so you should do your best to remove that portion of your mind that places stigma on wars and links it to the soldiers, they play no part in the decision.
Every western nation (im not sure how other nations pay their respects to the fallen, I have to admit my ignorance on that part) pays tremendous, TREMENDOUS respects to fallen soldiers, they are the vanguard that protect our society from true evil.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to Hive13's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
westysays...Um yes i do agree its important to have a group of people that will protect a country and do varouse tasks however , i would not actively put myself in a position where i am going to kill people. indirectly i am already paying for it but i was born into that without a choice and hopefully over time i will be able to change that / move to country where it is not the case.
you cannot use the oh im just the tool that's at the killing end Inorder to ethically cleanse yourself from the fact that you are murdering people. just as a polatitoin cannot say oh i don't pull the trigger i just make desissoins.
its a hard line to tred and in my opinion no war is ethical however at this point in time culturally the least a government could be is proportional in response to things and that is something that it is not.
charliemsays...Theres time for pacifism and diplomacy, and theres a time for bullets and missiles.
Hitler (Godwin invocation well acknowledged), would not of been stopped with words. Vietnam was a mistake and should of never happened, same with korea. Both could of been taken care of the same way we took care of cuba re: missile crisis.
Molosovic couldn't be stopped with words either...there are times when war is an evil necessity. You cant sit there and pick and choose as a soldier, its not a democracy, the military would not function if it was. So you have no choice but to justify that you are the man on the killing end of the politicians sword, so murder isnt murder. Its a sanctioned mission in the defence of your own nation.
That is justification, whether the mission is justified or not.
westysays...well you could chose by doing some research and finding out that usa is quite an eval country when it comes to its military.
if you honistly wanted to be a soldure and ethical person you would research which country ore govaning bosy would be best to work for and i defintly think usa would not be it,
but yes if you kill sumone it is murder if sumone brakes into my house rapes my family and killes them all and i then kill them that is still murder , yes manny people would argue that thay deserved it but i would still be killing sumone and personaly i think if sumone is killing other people thay probably have something wrong with them , ore a savear lack of interlect.
Kruposays...What shocked me was how much the last administration wanted to hide this sad but honourable practice by suppressing the news of casualties. Damned chickenhawk Bushie fools.
