Sweden Helicopter Heist CCTV

Swedish prosecutors have charged 10 men with theft for stealing 39 million Swedish kronor ($5.3 million) from a Stockholm cash depot last year in a helicopter heist.

Prosecutor Leif Gorts says five men were charged Monday July 19, 2010 with aggravated robbery and five with complicity. Two other suspects remain at large. Gorts says a massive investigation into the Sept. 23 robbery included tips from police in Serbia, wiretapping and DNA analysis. Police say they have recovered some of the cash but that most remains missing. If found guilty, the men face prison terms of up to 10 years. Nine of the suspects are Swedes and one is Syrian. They have all denied the charges.

Climbing in through a window and angle-grinding two padlocks nets $5.3 million? WTF Sweden?

Well, not shown is when they used explosives to blow out a wall. Or when they placed fake bombs by the police helicopter pads to prevent them being used, or the Police still being in place outisde quickly but awaiting the taskforce before going in. You also forgot the helicopter and the nighttime landing on a very small (considering) roof.

So yeah, it was spectacular to be sure, but no where near as easy as this limited footage makes it look.

Bravo Sweden... Bravo for building a place where a whole lot of money is stored, with a conveniently placed skylight.

Next, watch Swedes build a prison with conveniently placed air ducts, just big enough for a person to crawl around in.

Sweden.... Hollywood Movies Construction Codes since 1985!
