enemycombatantsays...For some reason, all I want to do is sit one of these down next to me while I play the new God of War so that I can have a small, feathered, raging Kratos.
handmethekeysyousays...This would be funnier if it were a mynah bird.
Trancecoachsays...This is pretty incredible.. It's also an interesting commentary on the human role in nature.
Lemmasays...fake!
antsays...Don't forget my old video: http://www.videosift.com/video/Lyrebird-Unbelievable-Jungle-Bird-Mimics-Bird-and-Human-Sounds
sanderbossays...Awesome. I love how it seems to prefer the same kinds of sounds as Attenborough's [sp?] lyrebird did, rolling trembling sounds. My favorite from this one is the drill that segways into a a sawing sound, which the bird seems to have stored as one single sound-experience.
Sericsays...Excellent video, but someone needs to separate their tags

You want "segues". Segways are scooters.

I can't tell if that was a sarcastic fake or not. If not, check out the video link by aunt.
rottenseedsays...nice post, EC.
rychansays...Nice! it does seem to have picked up on some of the same things as Attenborough's Lyrebird. The bird's audio memory and reproduction is really uncanny. It doesn't just get the big, first-order effects like the bang of a hammer. It imitates the reverberations and dulling of a noise with distance.

Holy crap, I had no idea that was how you spelled the full word. I always thought that was how people spelled the abbreviated version which is common in film jargon, which I guess is actually "seg".
djsunkidsays...Somebody needs to sit one of these birds down in front of Star Wars or Monty Python' Search for the Holy Grail, or Napolean Dynamite or some other movie that is often quoted. My vote is for star wars though because of all the iconic sounds.

Ha, teaches me not to use fancy words (although I did not realize that I was using one that fancy). Thanks for the correction.
siftbotsays...Video Game Emulator Bird has been added as a related post - related requested by eric3579 on that post.
