Imho the best scene in all the Star Trek movies and the type of pace I miss in todays scifi flics..

I completely agree. Some of the best integration between screen action and music score. By far the best scene in one of the more forgettable (but not unforgiveable) Trek movies. Thanks for adding this to the sift.

The best part of this is that Scotty managed to make the Excelsior sound like a stalling internal combustion engine. There are so many things wrong with that!
