Geordi La Forge really sells it.
gorillamansays...It's taken 25 years from tabletop RPG to board game to computer game to VR and it turns out people still really, really want this.
RFlaggsays...Cool enough, though not sure I'm sold on this over Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator... this basically is that, but having VR requirement and set in a Star Trek universe (from the comments it appears to be the JJ Abrams universe). I'm not one to be upset about it being Ubisoft.
Pulsar: Lost Colony is another one in the same thing, though it seems to be a bit more ambitious in total scope, though missing the VR requirement. It has away missions. It's the one I'd be more interested in playing... were I to have enough friends to play any of these. lol.

entr0pysays...As cool of an idea as that is, they would need to be really creative with the gameplay to make it fun for everyone in the long run. In the shows most of what the bridge crew does is:
1. Captain tells you what to do, you punch it into the controls.
2. You relay something on your screen to the captain.
3. Goto 1.
I'll love it if they make that into a fun multiplayer game. But I think a safer bet would be just making a single player game where you are the captain and make all the important decisions while good actors feed you information.

LiquidAvatarsays...Seriously guys, check out Artemis (starship bridge simulator) if you're excited by this. It's great fun, and uses a crew of 6 (although there are carriers that can launch fighters, if you want to get more people on a single ship).
LiquidDriftsays...Looks awesome, it does kill me a little bit to see Levar Burton shilling for it though. Couldn't stop wondering how much they paid him to do it the whole time.
