Language is a little strong for the kiddies, but that's Dutch Television for you. TayTV hates Bill-O, check out the reasons why, in the retired Archive

Just a minor Update (april 3rd) Bill has invited Snoop dogg onto his show, However apparently they do Drug testing? is that joke or was Bill Serious? Watch the clip

I think banning QM would just feed his martyr complex.
He's like his right-wing radio heroes; every time you say something bad about him, it feeds his ego and he feels more righteous.

Maybe making anonymous racist comments over the internet lets him blow off steam he might otherwise be inflicting on someone in real life.

bigbikemansays...

I agree with theo47's point but would add another reason that he didn't mention (but would hopefully agree with):

I don't want my internets populated by people who agree with me---and please forgive that (sadly) laughable cliche, because I really mean it.
Deano: please don't become a micro-example of all that is retrogressive in modern human cultures by suggesting that those with whom you disagree be silenced.

It reminds me of a quote:
The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher regard those who think alike than those who think differently.
- Friedrich Nietzsche

QM spouts a lot of exclusionary, narrow-minded and callous rhetoric *on a web forum*. There are worse things in this world. He is also one persona who stands almost alone against popular opinion. While I personally despise pretty much every single post of his that I have read, I personally encourage him/her/it to continue posting and downvoting (the horror) as long as he wants.

I can take it. And so can you.

The irony of all of this is that QM would probably ban certain people here in a heartbeat---myself included. Mmmmm delicious!

Ok. rant over. Thanks for your time.

MINKsays...

Good clip, bad performance. for some reason i expected more from snoop, something more than a mental age of 12 at least. If you are gonna say "fuck you" it needs some kind of backup.

Deanosays...

I'm not sure what you're on about bikeman. On usenet I could easily killfile twats. Here I can't. But I do see we have a ban feature. Why aren't we using it? QM isn't writing anything that's relevant to the clip and so I'm not in disagreement with him. But I don't see why he can't hang around somewhere else spouting whatever nonsense he wants. He would have my whole-hearted support.

bigbikemansays...

What I'm on about is trying to get over the gut instinct that people have to censor others who don't agree with them. And I should mention that this wasn't an attack on you personally, but on an instinct that we all have, myself included. I believe it's a behaviour that's fundamentally at odds with a free and progressive society, and as tough as it is sometimes, it good to remember that. I tend to remember it every time I see Bill Oreilly cut someone's mic.

But that's just my opinion. And I have no problem with using personal blocks for certain posters---I used to WTMKF with wild abandon on usenet (albeit I usually used it more as an inverse smiley to let someone know they had lost my attention and my patience).

However, if you don't want to read a certain person's posts that's your business: a personal killfile/block only affects you. A ban affects everyone. I have a problem with that.

theo47says...

Yeah, but bigbikeman, chances are none of would want to visit QM's House of Racist/Hate/Nutjobbery on the internets.

This is a community of people who, believe it or not, don't agree with each other all the time, but don't have to resort to hate speech and bigotry to make their points.

Screw it - if he does it again that nakedly, I'll petition to ban him.

AnimalsForCrackerssays...

Dore, so because the fact that he(Snoop) may be a violent guy means you disagree with him that O'Reilly is a jackass? That's all I meant by it, that I agree and glad he said it. Kinda sounds fallacious to me; I'm sure I'd agree with Hitler on a few completely mundane, every-day type, non-"Party" related issues just by way of odds. Does that make me evil now too?

lucky760says...

I love that the Dutch subtitles of "So I can kick his motherfuckin' ass" (at -11 secs) includes the text "kan rammen" which I can only hope has a literal translation including "can ramming" or, as the dictionary defines it, "to ram one's foot deep inside the ass of another."

Teehee.

doremifasays...

In response to animals... anybody can use Hitler for a false analogy. It isn't difficult. Now, to think critically is always a challenge. I speak for myself. Do I disagree with him about O'Reilly? No, yelling "fuck O'Reilly" and nothing else cannot get my vote. (Not like it really matters)

spoco2says...

Snoop is a sexist shit himself with no musical talent at all. Hid portrayal of women in his music and videos, and his adult movies (ok, I haven't actually seen any of those) are just horrendous... Women are apparently here to serve him.

But his views on Bill OReilly are accurate.

sometimessays...

I love how O'Reilly talks about snoop having "A Gun that can Kill People". I can't believe a hardened republican like him would have anything bad to say about guns. I guess any NRA leanings he may have are applicable to white people only.

quantumushroomsays...

I like snoop, but if that's the best he can do without a script...threaten violence against critics between joints...pathetic. And the fact some of you see nothing wrong with his threats because after all, snoops is just a po' black former gang member who can rhyme cat with hat, while O'Reilly is the Big Bad White Meany...ye gods, give it up. You can no more judge me than argue with ingested poison.

The line about Holland? It's called a JOKE...HUMOR, certainly not A-list material, but any kind of humor is Public Enemy #1 to these dour-faced liberal intellectuals trying to save the world. Now if you find my stuff offensive you're an idiot, because almost everyone here has watched Chris Rock and Chappelle and both say far worse and no one calls them on it.

Some of these fellows on the left like to pretend they've never said the word nigger; it's against the edicts of the liberal religion. According to liberals, blacks are inferior and deserving of special help, even though black people have been around for thousands of years longer than the racist democrap party. Remember, Republicans FREED the slaves long before liberals re-shackled the minds of far too many with their poor-me victim nonsense.

Not that any of you deserve an explanation, the reason why I went off on Kanye West is because he's a fking moron; he used the time and money of a well-known rescue organization trying to raise money for victims of a national disaster to wax druggetic in a dumbass tirade against the President, who has no control over the weather. It won't ever be known how many would-be donors he turned off with his idiotic rant, and the only reason libtards support this idiot or are afraid to criticize is because he's melanin-enhanced?

What if Mike Myers had gone off on Jesse Jackson like West did Bush...Myers would've have been crucified by the drive-by media.

The tyranny of a minority--hiding behind a certain peoples, using them as shields for so-called "sensitivity"--is what too many lefties are about.

Remember, I put up with many of the characters around here as well: pro-homicide bombing, Palestinian lovers, unrepentant Stone Age Muslims, obnoxious atheists (do you really think more than 2 people watch 2 minutes of those hour-long Dawkins- fests)? and various assorted Green Day-loving high school seniors.

Believe it or else, I really don't have hatred for anyone here...your opinions are your own.

If I were running VS, I would not ban a single one of you for voicing an opinion. Unlike the PC'ers, I don't fear differences of opinion. And many who cyber-hate me feel about the same. Keep going!

MINKsays...

just proves that QM's main aim is to be hated, because being respected is much more difficult.

However, I share the sentiments about "various assorted green day loving high school seniors"... that bit I can understand. It's easy to watch Loose Change and hate George Bush, so lots of lazy people do it. I don't support their uninformed preconceptions any more than I support QM's uninformed preconceptions. I am glad QM is here otherwise it would definitely be just a whiney whinefestival, rehashing stuff you read in The Nation and heard on TDS.

The key to wisdom is to know that you don't know anything.
