Smoker's Lungs - scary!

I am very happy I have never smoked! Although I do not know how much you have to smoke to get your lungs looking like these.

Does smoking pot do the same thing or just tobacco? (I don't smoke either BTW, just curious)

Its a matter of quantity. On a per-cigarette basis, weed is worse because it is generally unfiltered, but you will be hard pressed to find someone that smokes as much weed as they do cigarettes. A typical smoker might consume a pack a day, a typical pothead might consume a joint every other day.

Not sure how many potheads you hang around, but 1 joint every other day barely qualifies. Everyone's different, of coruse, but go with 3-4 every day and you're more in the ballpark.

I though a good pot-head prescribed to the "Wake-and-Bake" schedule of existence with a preference for a good bong hit before the feet hit the floor. Of course a good water pipe can filter out some of the crap. Now drinking the water afterward probably doesn't do you any good.

The early morning buzz is then sustained with joint or 4 through out the day depending on stress levels, lack of other drugs, daisy shortages, rallies to attend, current bank account balance, general conflict with "the man", and numerous other "Stressors".

Man I really wish I could just Sarcasm tag a section of this, which probably makes it bad sarcasm.

Lungs only get black when your a coal miner, or if you develop lung cancer (from smoking). Smoking itself doesn't cause black lungs.

Holy crap, what a load of BS. Smoking definitely does cause black lungs regardless of neoplasm. The ciliated portion of the airway terminates proximal to the alveolus/terminal bronchus, thus any small particles (carbon, tar, whatever) that deposit in this region will never be expelled from the lungs. In addition, some particles are retained by dust cells, further discoloring the lung parenchyma.
