You know, The Discovery Channel probably milked this into 20 minutes of build-up and 10 minutes of commercials. I love being able to get right to the meat of it.

This made me think about terminal velocity. I guess it would be the same for both the plane and the guy, but wouldn't one have more drag than the other and fall slower? Callng Dr. Newton.

BillyMacksays...Well, terminal velocity implies both objects are free-falling, any additional drag from the plane could be countered by an increase in velocity from the engine. Moreover, the jumper can also change his drag profile for effective changes in velocity.

Thanks BM, I think they were free-falling, the engine didn't look to be on for the Cessna.
