fireflysays...aw, he didn't hurt himself! that could've gone into my Darwin playlist...!
gwaansays...Great post!
I used to use this station every morning - wish I'd thought of that!
supersaiyan93says...upvote because i've been on that very escalator. it IS quite a long ride.
gorgonheapsays...Awesome, I wanna do it now!
antonyesays...I've bum surfed down that escalator while living just up the road. My jeans had a big black stripe on them when I got to the bottom!
TimothyChenAllensays...How did they work it out so no one was coming up as he came down?
Kruposays...His buddies were at the bottom, no doubt minding the entrance I figure.
wallacesays...Looks like a lot of fun - but doesn't seem extrordinarily long. Maybe it just goes by so fast . . .
Kreegathsays...Not to sound picky, but isn't the longest escalator in Europe in Moscow? I'm thinking of the Park Pobedy station escalators, with a length of over 126 metres.

Tandrielsays...According to wikipedia Kreegath is right, I just checked it after reading about the Moscow metro in a novel. Angel tube station's escalators dates: vertical rise of 27.4 m (90 ft) and a length of 60 m (197 ft) - Park Pobedy's dates: 740 steps, and 126 m long, the station is 97 metres underground. I'm not sure about this particular station but in general some of the metro stations built after the beginning of the Cold War were intended to be used as shelters in the case of an emergency which explains the depth of the station.
