I found these sliding before-and-after images from the L.A. Times and the N.Y. Times to be a chillingly effective use of technology to showcase the devastation caused by this disaster.

bamdrewsays...... for some reason I KNEW there would be shitty music with this... but the reality of the situation was much more than I could have ever imagined.
MaxWildersays...For some reason the loss of all those trees makes me sadder than the buildings. That's totally irrational considering the financial impact and possible harm that occurred to people inside, but that's what hits me. Maybe I just like trees more than buildings.
