Shameless product placement on TV

These days most of the shows that I watch have incredibly blatant product placement that really break you out of the show and spoils the atmosphere being created and the story being told.

Recent ones that have rankled:
* Prius in Warehouse 13
* Google Wallet in Fringe
* A number of car maker's 'features' of their cars in Fringe
* Subway in Chuck (I only just discovered the show, the blatant Subway advertising is horrendous in season 4)
* Toyota people mover in Chuck

I don't have a problem with items appearing within a show for money. But as soon as it gets in the way of the show, and it's blatantly obvious that it's an advert, that's when it really annoys me, and saddens me... and makes me cry a little... and hit a baby seal.

Ok, maybe not cry.
