lucky760Can't wait.
ChaosEngineWhen I was a kid, I was told I'd be working in space or on the moon. I was told computers would be smarter than us and I was told that travel between continents would take minutes not hours (sub orbital hops).
None of this has come to pass, but by christ I refuse to die until my car has driven me home from the pub. Make it happen google!

poolcleanerGoogle isn't people! I was to have lunch with someone from Google. They didn't show up -- but their car was parked right outside! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
yellowcsays...Damn that's cool!
They should put they wireframe visualisation in all self-driving cars so passengers can watch it. That seems like something that will ease people's minds about "trusting computers" if they can constantly monitor what the car is "seeing" and "thinking".
deathcowMaybe if you wear Google Glasses it will receive it from the car.

Sniper007says...[At railroad crossing]
"This means that we'll wait until the tracks are clear of other vehicles before proceeding."
Does anyone else see a problem with that logic?
AeroMechanicalsays...When I was a kid, I was told I was going to die in the nuclear holocaust, so maybe it all evens out in the end.

ChaosEngineMe too. That's why we'd be working in space!

00Scud00jokingly says...I hear they got the guys who programed the traffic routines in Sim City 6 to program the cars, if that's true then we won't need nukes to end all life as we know it.
siftbotA First Drive - Google's Self-Driving Car has been added as a related post - related requested by ChaosEngine on that post.
