What if it malfunctions?

It bluescreens, like any windows product.

The failure mode for most of these is opaque when the power is lost.

They consume ~7W per square yard when they are "on" (transparent).

Ugh.

If the power goes out it won't matter if the door is opaque or not. I'd be more worried about what I was pissing on at that point.

If the power goes out, the lights go too.

Was that a light shining on the door to make it that color? I'm confused on the way it works. I'm also really really high.

I saw one similar to this on a television show about 5 years ago. Also you should of seen the mens room at a train station in France I went to in 96 it was transparent without any kind of frosting mechanism when you locked the door. I couldn't do it and had to use the ladies which was not transparent.
