That was the homeowner spraying something at the guy coming at him with a crowbar. Possibly a bear bomb, as human-targeted pepper spray is considered a weapon up here, and you can't legally own it. Using pepper spray on a human is considered assault, regardless of the provocation.

That being said, I guarantee the charges were dropped to probably a fine, and the guy coming at him with the crowbar would have been arrested thanks to the video.

I'm not sure why this guy is such a target. The neighborhood just doesn't look that bad. It probably has to do with the fact that to the right of this house the street deadends at the parking lots for a secondary school and the local outdoor community pool. I'm guessing that all the lowlifes for a large area congregate there at night to hang out. He has made the news before:

Yeah, that is one hell of a video full of crap humanity on display...

...and yet my take away was the raccoons washing their paws in the pond and chilllaxin' on the settee.
