Sarah Palin's clueless response to the Arizona shootings.
JiggaJonsonsays...

Fucking shit-
When are these morons going to stop talking about the founders of this country and putting them up on a pedestal? Sure, they created a government that was designed to work very well for the 1700s, but the idea behind it that's really carried the USA to where it is is adaptation. Idolizing the founders in, dare i say, a religious way only stagnates the processes that they held to be valuable.

Wait wait, shit, you got me Sarah! I'm talking about political philosophy when I should just be saying "Awww, look how hard you're trying to be relevant. That's cute."

Damn she's good!

Yeah the USA sure is a bright light. Wait a minute... That's not a light. It's a nuclear explosion! RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!

Oh Palin, thank you. Thank you for making me hate the political class in my country just a little less, simply because even though they may be corrupt, incompetent, or simply a bunch of demagogs, there is no one in the political panorama here that can compare to how annoyingly BAD you are.

Matthusays...

I've been waiting to post my thoughts on all this. I'll be candid, and that might reveal horrible views, but here goes...

When I heard someone in the government was shot, my first reaction was to feel bad. But that VERY quickly turned to, "it's about time, fuck them."

And then I read about who it was and what she was doing, and I realized are you fucking kidding me, one of the good people was shot? Wow... just wow.

The way I understand it, the right to bear arms is in the constitution explicitly in the event that the people need to overthrow the government. I learned this because when I was younger, I held firmly the belief that guns are bad and we should get rid of them, someone explained to me why the constitution guaranteed the right to bear arms, and my naivete washed away. Sadly, it made sense.

So whatever, shrug. I don't have the will to further articulate the fact that violence is the only thing that can always guarantee freedom.

The liars with no balls on t.v. and the radio and elsewhere condemning violence in politics while lining their pockets with the gold of the people while washing their hands of the blood of the people can suck a dick.

Two things in the past year that have made me realize the government is no longer representing the people: No limit on corporate donations, and FCC rulings on the internet.

This was probably simply a preemptive strike by the right. Because now the left can't enforce real change without "stooping to their level." Maybe a psyche out. Hehe, they use dirty tricks like that.

Last thing, look up a picture of Gabrielle Giffords, a nice face shot and tell me if you see the kindness in her face and eyes. Then look up a picture of palin, or watch the above video, and, though she's trying real hard, tel me if you see the fucking evil.

Hanover_Phistsays...

The 1st whole minute of her speech sounded pretty good I thought.
The next minute she started to sound a little like Lex Luther publicly denying involvement in some crazy experiment that went awry. I didn't watch more than a few seconds after that, so I'm left with the subtle impression that Sarah "Manchurian Candidate-ed" Jared Loughner herself.

Deadrisenmortalsays...

I couldn't stop staring at the reflection of the teleprompter in her glasses.

I am unable to bring myself to like this woman. I have watched her and I have looked for a behavioral pattern that would help me to discern what motivates her. All that I can see is selfishness, zealotry, and mindless far right wing fundamentalism. The only time that I have seen her display emotion that might not be described as disingenuous was when she was directly confronted by an Alaskan resident who was not happy with her. It was that sudden look of surprise at the possibility that someone might not think that she is wonderful. There is no humility here, there is only ego. I get no sense that she has ever done anything in her public life that could be considered truly selfless.

I am tired of her and I hope that one day she gets left behind by the world of politics and personality and we never have to experience her flavor of nonsense again. Sarah Palin, reduced to a footnote in the political history of the country as a person that did nothing, changed nothing, knew nothing.

Politics Let's Play Compare and Contrast!
Posted by Paul Constant on Wed, Jan 12, 2011 at 7:29 PM

There are exactly 10,467 differences between today's speeches. Can you find them all? Sarah Palin's speech is here and President Obama's remarks are here.

I'll start: Though his speech was much longer, President Obama didn't once use an anti-Semitic phrase.

(sorry the hyperlinks don't work -- I don't got the knowledge of how to make them.)

I have been avoiding watching this, knowing that I would go ballistic. I lasted 37 seconds before I had to turn it off.

Every time she said "we mourn for the innocents", I kept picking up a vibe that not all who were attacked were innocent. Some got it who deserved it.

I know that can't possibly be true. Deadrisenmortal has it right, I think. "I have watched her and I have looked for a behavioral pattern that would help me to discern what motivates her. All that I can see is selfishness, zealotry, and mindless far right wing fundamentalism."

I also happen to know someone who went to high school in Palmer, the next town over, at the same time Palin was in high school. She knew her well enough to say hi, knew her reputation, and saw what she did to Wasilla and the surrounding area during her tenure as Mayor. My friend hates her. "She's mean" -- a direct quote. From someone who watched her before the cameras turned on her.

You can pass this off as vitriol. Or maybe it is just ... accurate.

alien_conceptsays...

I think someone is going to make an assassination attempt on her one of these days. One of her security staff would "accidentally" misjudge a situation and hopefully someone with a 12 gauge will POW her teeth into the back of her head. She'd be so worth it!

I think she was spot on. If I want to read vitriol, I can find it right here in the comments section.

At least we wear our vitriol on our sleeves. Instead of cowardly hiding it under what is obviously feigned ignorance. (Which is the worst kind BTW)
