as much as I would love a controversy like this, the fact is that the video shows her putting her finger in her left ear and the "video enhancement" is of the right ear. it's doubtful that if she did have some kind of ear piece that they would put one in both ears.

It's very risky to try to wire up a candidate for hidden communications. Video cameras might not see it (maybe HD cameras would) but press photographers use cameras in the 10 to 20 megapixel range these days. It would get photographed.

Less of an endorsement of these claims and more simple pedantry, but covering your one ear to better hear what is being said into your other ear is quite normal, just look at anyone trying to use their mobile phone in a noisy environment.
