Oops! PBS has asked Obama to pull this ad. Watch while you can!

PBS probably does agree, but knows it won't help their case to weigh in on this, or their brand long-run if they allow their biggest icon to become a football for partisan politics.
shinyblurrysays...Incredibly..yes it is.

Kofisays...Hmm, while I love the comedy value, it is concerning that this is the subject of an election. Shame on both of them I say.
hpqpsays...One more of the millions of reasons PACs and SUPERPACs shouldn't exist (it's a pac that did this, right? Right??)
bareboards2says...First line is "I approve this message." And PBS has contacted the Obama campaign to ask them to pull it, which they are "considering."
I must admit I had the same reaction -- this is damn funny, but it is shouldn't be an official Obama campaign ad. Not presidential.

dystopianfuturetodaysays...I've got to agree with PBS on this. If it is frivolous for Romney to focus on Big Bird, isn't it just as frivolous for Obama to focus on Romney focusing on Big Bird? I also don't like that the commercial does not explicitly defend public television, it just uses it as a prop. Sesame Street is noble institution that shouldn't be dragged through the mud of politics.
bobknight33says...The Obama camp is reaching for anything that can save his election. Sad.
