i didn't know Rocky was written by Sylvester Stallone.

it also won best picture at the Oscars in 1977 beating -

Didn't he write and direct the new Rocky movie as well? It was a great nostalgia trip down the 80s for me.

Yes he did. Stallone to beat Scorcese again?

No way.

If Scorcese doesn't get this year someone needs to get shot. I thought he would get it at least for Gangs of New York because of his general contributions to cinema.
