Huh; so rather than building a sensor into the shell, it's back to a time-to-explosion technology.

Stick with what works.
Sensors are complicated, expensive, and can easily fail, timers by comparison are cheap, simple, and reliable.

A cloud of tungsten projectiles... clearly (hopefully?) not intended for use over populated areas, though I suppose it could still be preferable to whatever might otherwise get through. Would be a hell of a messy hailstorm resulting from this thing though!

The best part is that it won't blow a straying passenger plane out of the air. On the other hand, you will need a firehose to clean out the cabin upon landing.
