Republicans attack Kay Hagan for talking with nonbelievers

The National Republican Senatorial Committee finds it appropriate to criticize North Carolina Senate candidate Kay Hagan for "inviting nonbelievers onto her platform".

How is it acceptable to criticize a candidate for talking to all kinds of denominations of faith and not just the religious one?

Religious freedom protected by the 1st amendment - lack of a religion is protected as well.

There are people who think that I will be left behind because I do not believe in god.

How do they know that they have the right religion? God is a construct of common wisdom, in that there is no proof of god nor is there absolute proof against god. The only reason god exists is because it is an institution, and gullible people love institutions. So why the hell should I worry about it. To think that I lack a morality because I do not believe in god is fallacy.

Free your mind, and your brain might fall out, but hey, at least you took the chance to see what other people may see.

God is an authority figure, a father figure, a mother figure a whatever figure, see what I did there? Its relative and subjective to those that believe in it.

OMG! NO! Don't take 'In God We Trust' off the money! It's been there since the founding! as long as America was founded in 1956.

Same for the Pledge 'edit' - it was not there before, you pledged your allegiance to the United States, not the God some believe...

You can really tell where the Republicans are losing, can't you. I bet Dole can't wait to lose so she can get the hell out of North Carolina (not that she's ever really there).

Removing God from the money and pledge isn't enough. I think we need to remove God from the Bible. He's been in control of that thing for so long, you'd think that HE wrote it!

God, I hate Bill O'Reilly. So very, very much.

I had a realization recently that religion is a sort of psychological warfare.

When you teach children at a very young age that there is this all-powerful, all-seeing being who controls your destiny, and that you have to love and obey this being if you are to get what you want out of life, you are instilling them with an imperialist viewpoint.

Western religions are essentially examples of spiritual imperialism.

Because the Gods of Western religions are essentially treated as Kings.

The thing that really gets me is that serious Christians shouldn't be worrying about taking God off our money—they should be asking why is God on our money in the first place.

I live in Raleigh, NC so I can has the pleasure of voting for Ms. Hagan but I don't think she'll win. NC politics is just the way you might think: very religion-heavy and anti-outsider. Dole is as much an institution here as Jesse Helms was.

In fact, in yesterday's mail I received a flyer that read, "With Kay Hagan and Liberal Judges, We're One Step Closer to Legal Gay Marriages." Of course, I logged into Ms. Dole's website and gave her a clean version of my standard response to such silliness.
