I watched some of the hearings on this the week before this vote was forced through - this Kevin Martin guy is an asshat-bush crony extraordinaire. He couldn't answer one question straight and frankly looked like a complete fool that had his mind made up and nothing was going to change it. I guess he cashed the check...

Oh and what the hell good does it do to have "unprecedented public access" to a government commision the majority of which has absolutely no intention or interest in taking into account the public's input.

http://www.freepress.net/ is a pretty good portal for info on these types of issues in general, media reform, and you can get on lists to be updated for them as well. They cover everything from this to the internet and in pretty good detail most of the time.

good gawd, this makes me feel like crying.... but at the same time strengthens my resolve to maintain my mainstream media blackout - no broadcast or cable television, no newspapers, no broadcast radio. We get our news from the internet (easier to cross-check and research right away and note bias ATST)
