Reinventing Turning Arrows With Lars Anderson

The 360 power rotation!
In 2017 I reinvented the turning arrow, but it was without any power.
Since then, other archers have performed tricks with the same powerless turning arrows.

However, in the book Arab Archery, it describes hitting an enemy beside you, but this seemed impossible. So I began experimenting and got help from several experts, and suddenly an arrow rotated and had a lot of power—quite scary. The arrow had a tip that I unscrewed, and in the next shot, the tipless arrow stuck into a board—very frightening.
In the historical descriptions of turning arrows, the arrow changes a lot with weight, lead, extra feathers, and the shape of the arrow. I went further and started building a bow that would throw the arrow into rotation.
It’s really hard to make it work; it requires incredible precision. The arrow must fit 100% to the bow, or the arrow flies in a random direction, and very small changes make it fail.

So don’t try this yourself, as it can be really dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing, because it is so unpredictable.

Best regards,

Lars Andersen
