silvercordsays...This is sweet music. Below is some stuff I found on the Web about them.
After years of developing a cult reputation among guitarists, Volkaert got the call to become lead guitarist for one of his heroes, Merle Haggard, in 1997. Since then he has been a "Stranger" in Merle's band, recording and touring non-stop, and appearing in concert and national television before millions of people.
What makes steel guitar and Dobro player Cindy Cashdollar's musical journey stand out is a combination of restless creativity and an uncanny ability to understand and add to a wild array of styles. She has worked with the likes of Leon Redbone, Graham Parker, Bob Dylan ( on his Grammy winning "Time Out Of Mind" CD), Jorma Kaukonen, Peter Rowan, and the stellar Cajun group BeauSoleil. As the steel guitarist for eight years with western swing kingpins Asleep At The Wheel, she logged many more additional road miles and won five Grammys.
thain1982says...It even sounds a bit jazzy, I think (of course, Blues is an early form of Jazz, so that's a no-brainer). Puts me in mind of Dire Straits, with a touch of the Kill Bill soundtrack. Upvote for awesome guitars.
