Rachel Maddow's Analysis Of Barack 'Hussein' Obama In Egypt

RedSkysays...

Denouncing Israeli settlements is great, if I recall correctly, Hilary Clinton did the same publicly a couple of weeks ago, but the significance of that lies in actually putting the foot down and preventing more from going up and eventually rolling back those currently in the West Bank.

Maddow is correct, I don't really see any policy shifts at all through this, most of these are already reflective of his previously outlined positions just expressed more starkly or lucidly. I guess the potential for this to be directly projected to countries in the Middle East as opposed to conveyed indirectly through the US presidential race is quite significant though.

I thought number 4 was really the only striking admittance. The fact that I utterly never hear this mentioned through mainstream media in the US at least from the snippets I watch on this site is pretty deplorable since it represents such a fundamental reason for the conflict with Iran. Hopefully media figures will pick up on this point, discuss it and bring it to the forefront but I'm not holding my breath.

Deanosays...

Do you think someone could stick all his speeches on a DVD, surround it with stirring music and make a fortune?

I should have known - a quick check on Amazon reveals a ton of DVDs including those with just speeches.

Mel in ore,
verba lactis.
Fel in corde,
fraus in factis.

A honeyed mouth with milky words hides a heart filled with gall and evil deeds

edit:
just sayin'
you know
perhaps the speech is rousing to some (certainly not me)
but still it's just a speech
