Queen of the Falls ~ 1st Woman Over Niagra in a Barrel

On her 63rd birthday, October 24, 1901, Annie Edson Taylor became the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel. She did it for quick money, and, after an illustrious dive into obscurity and is interred in the "Stunters Section" of Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls, New York.

She did not however, fail.
