wax66says...It was only a matter of time before someone did this mashup. I remember playing this and ttyquake (quake graphics all in text) back on my Pentium 1.
flechettesays...I was about to tell wax66 off, because I only saw this rendering about a year ago. The original quake had ways to play without textures, and I thought that's what you must have remembered. That is until I went back to the NPRquake homepage (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/graphics/Gallery/NPRQuake/whatIsIt.html) and looked at the date on the files, 5/16/2000. Good grief, 8 years for this to come out?
