City council heard from the public as they debated a new rule adding LGBT people to the list of minorities protected from discrimination.
This other link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnuwFx0mpns) has 45 minutes of people who are actually arguing against the bill and comparing gay people to rapists and pedophiles.

I think they were gobsmacked. A few planted Slow Clappers would have helped.

I just watched a significant chunk of the entire town hall hearing, and what he said is all the more pertinent when you hear the speakers immediately after him. Without exaggerating, the person who followed this speech gave essentially the same talk but without the switcheroo.

oh, and regarding the applause - judging by the fact that nobody that followed him defended the LGBT community, I think that the general consensus is such that they aren't the sort to clap for this guy.

The flock isn't going to like this.
