Pop singing before AutoTune

I am presenting this in good faith that it's real; that it's the vocal track of the Beach Boys singing the subversively sexually repressed "Wouldn't It Be Nice"---which thematically, appears to be about the desire of a couple too young to marry--to just be...married.
But of course, has other overtones lol.

VH-1 used to do an "Unplugged" series of just acoustic sets from musicians---I wish that was still a thing (1989-1999 regularly; then irregularly to 2009)...I suspect demand went away and musician management started to view "unmanipulated" voicing as a threat to career programming.

Ugh.
