Raytracesays...simply awesome... the kinds of things you wish you had a camera around when it happened, and this time there was.
sowatsurpointdudesays...how does this have to do with football?!?! Why was football put up there with the tags?! Whats going on!? Help me out and try to explain this to me?
swampgirlsays...sowatsurpointdude! Good to see you :-)
Are you from the U.S.? It would explain why you didn't get the "football" tag. It seems about everyone else in the world but we Americans call it football. Makes sense when ya think about it.
oohahhsays...That got me wondering, if everybody but the Americans call it "football", "futbol", or some derivitive thereof, why do Americans call it "soccer"? That's not even remotely close!
Well, Google Answers had this to say. I cherry-picked the explanation I like the most:
Soccer is an abbreviation for "Association Football". The Football Association was formed in London in October 1863 when representatives of eleven clubs and schools met in an attempt to standardize the rules of the game. One of the rules prohibited the carrying of the ball, a rule that would lead to the Rugby-oriented clubs leaving the Association several months later. The name Association Football was coined to distinguish it from Rugby.
By 1889, the abbreviation socca' was in use, and the spelling soccer had made its appearance by 1895."

Wow - I learned something there oohahh. I think I got more satisfaction out of that comment than the parent video.
bdschumansays...Very snazzy, oohahh. Learn something new every day.
I always wondered, actually, why they call American Football "football". After all, it's really only the punter who uses his foot. The rest of the guys just carry the damn ball around. It's more like "homoerotic catch".
stephantualsays...upvote just for the laugh at the end
loorissays...as i said here http://www.videosift.com/video/Soccer-giving-a-new-meaning-to-the-word-penalty i hate the video re-played slow motion
