I just read this at the Metafilter thread:

Saw Patti last year at a benefit- she told the audience that the reason "Because the Night" didn't hit number one on the charts was because it was beaten out by Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life". People booed & hissed, but she stopped them by singing the first verse of it and telling everyone what a special song it was for her.

So surprising. So classy.

Cool to see one of my videos on the front page of VideoSift. (I have two YouTube accounts, k8_fan and postingoldtapes). On that I had, but is lost in the sands of time was Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics...on "Solid Gold".

That certainly wouldn't have made the first round of American Idol cuts.
