pitch black was a movie that totally failed as a horror film but excelled as a sci-fi thriller.one of the main reasons for this was vin deisel's character Riddick.this is the scene where riddick finds his humanity by the courage and character of radha mitchell's character.
many have denounced this movie but for me it was the growth and ultimate redemtption of the riddick character that made this movie compelling.

This was a pleasant surprise when it was released (along with Fight Club around the same time, no less)

I have a serious soft spot for this movie and its sequel.
