North Korean Film Exposes Western Propaganda

A little long but worth the watch! This is part 9 of 10 parts.

Blatant propaganda and divisive misinterpretations. While at the same time, between the lines, there is a window of truth - mostly taken out of context but when you step back and take another look, there are many truths here as well.

I'm sorry. Are we sure this is North Korea? The irony slayed me

I kept waiting for the misinformation but it all seemed like a pretty accurate picture of U.S. pop culture to me. Except the tobacco bit looked pretty outdated and I have no way of knowing how accurate the Iraqi civilian death statistic is.

I have hard time believing that this is a real NK program.
I say that because I highly doubt they would even risk showing any of that stuff to populace or that NK'ers would understand many of the concepts.

Yeh, sure, I don't disagree either. But you just don't see N. Korea pointing that discerning eye in their own direction. The cults of personality surrounding Kim Jung Il & Kim Il Sung beat the crap out of any shitty star worship MTV propagates. They just put a teenager in charge of their country because of what his father and grandfather did. Millions of N. Koreans die annually from not having enough to eat. They give any foreign visitor the 'Potemkin Village' treatment. Not to say the points made weren't credible, but showing the worse of American excess doesn't make that America. I don't watch any of the shit that video talked about and neither do you. We can turn it off.

Yeah it sucks how much this rings true. If I had to choose I think I would still choose the narcissistic USA to the totalitarian viewpoint of North Korea. If only there was a happy medium somewhere? (Denmark or Sweden perhaps)

"Trained monkey collaborators of death."
LOL

"Narcissistic parasite."

They're impressively poetic, and also depressingly accurate in their portrayal of a small slice of Western culture. However, I'm in no hurry to swap
