Can someone explain what 'offside' is, in English? I try to read the soccer-speak explanations and go @.@

As far as I can tell, the rule is: "If it's possible to make a goal, it's offside. Doubly-so if the ref is on the other team's payroll."

That's the point though. He was totally relaxed, yet pulled off such a lightning quick reaction. He's definitely one of the best goalies ever, too bad he's injured so much lately.

You can not be in front of all defenders at the time of a ball being passed. As a defender, you can use this to your advantage to draw back an attacker. If you anticipate a pass correctly, you can jump behind him and draw him offsides. The danger in that is great. The idea is to prevent keeping the strikers all hanging around for a long punt from the goalie.
