Noah takes a photo of himself everyday for 6 years

January 11, 2000 - July 31, 2006.
2356 Days.

This hits me on a few levels, but right now I just want to sit with it, and not stain the experience to too many words immediately.

I suspect this is a dupe, but for the life of me I can't find it on here.

It would be way cooler if someone would think to start doing this when they're ten years old.
If I have a kid I'll do this with them. Not that anyone would really be that interested in it but I would have fun watching the progression.
Damn that'd probably be depressing though.

It would be better to see a young person grow up, as you get to see more change in them.

I have a four year old brother, so i think i might take a photo of him every week until hes ten. That would be interesting. Thoughts?

Do it Darksun! Just don't forget to do it!

About the main video, the fact is that progression of aging cannot be clearly seen because the camera shaked between each photo, if all the photos were taken into Photoshop and centered on the eyes, the transition would be far smoother and you'd see more details.

great idea!! i'm going to do it as well ... what a great video for your children when they get older ... play it at their graduation or wedding or something fun like that!

but do you think they should smile ... or just keep the straight face like that?? it almost looks like he's been depressed for 6 yrs (maybe he has) ...

this one and the chic who did it for a few years... they both seem like boring people.

They don't grow their hair long, color their hair, grow facial hair, cut their hair really short, get black eyes, ... nothing! Boring people!

Would have been way cooler just to take a picture of a tree outside every day for 6 years. Seriously. Call it 'tree-life' or something... you know it would be #1 on the sift.

Is it just me or does it look as though his hair is rotating around his head like a bad toupe'?
I've also seen this same idea but with some woman. I thought hers was a bit better because her head remained motionless and was always taken in the same place (against a wall I think) with ample lighting.

umm, i respectfully submit that many of you *might* be looking in the wrong direction (backwards). i'm not thinking of how he *should* have made this, but instead i imagine how mind-blowing this will be when he's 60. it's an ongoing project.
bamdrew, i'm not exactly sure what it is that makes some people boring - usually it's lack of interest. but yours is an interesting comment, because my impression was almost the opposite - i thought whoever made this video probably has some interesting stuff going on upstairs. i mean, we all know about books and their covers, and while the dustjacket may be lackluster these videos themselves are testiment to their creators' ability to think different. that's not boring.
also, i liked the fact he was taking the pics in his natural living environment. it captures organic periods of time - the dorm room, the vacation, specific bedrooms, etc - so there's more information here than just the aging head.
redundant (already posted once): http://www.everyday.noahkalina.com/faq.htm check out his faq page for the video. he's got a few links to similar projects.
