Ryan Davis does a SATIRICAL interview with brave New Jersey High School student, Matthew LaClair, who recorded his PUBLIC SCHOOL history teacher's proselytizing rants during class after becoming concerned that no one would believe him if he reported his teacher.
The teacher, David Paszkiewicz, also a Baptist youth pastor, initially denied making the comments until confronted with the recordings where he tells his class that if they do not believe that Jesus died for their sins, they "belong in hell", that "the Big Bang and evolution theories were not scientific", and that "dinosaurs were on Noah’s Ark". The teacher then asked for a lawyer.
Unfortunately, when Matthew turned the tapes over to the school board, administrators treated the him as the problem and he became the target of harassment and even death threats. The school board's initial reaction was to ban all unapproved class recordings.
Fortunately, the American Civil Liberties Union, the People for the American Way Foundation and a partner from a large Manhattan law firm stepped forward to lend their assistance.
This kid is more mature and articulate than many of the adults involved, way to persevere!
