Any surprise that people avoid disturbing-yet-important issues?

If i had the money to be a super-hero, i'd do a dumbed down batman-esque anti-crime thing where i'd go into clubs (like the place with the girl being pimped out) and pay for their time, find out if they're in trouble, and help them get out.

I'm thinking along the lines of that liam neeson film.

I wonder if there are any people out there doing that?
