Jesus Christ Consolidated, how many imbeciles does it take to jump out of an airplane?? These 3....yeah snipe, don't most places that train jumpers have you strapped to the instructor??? And ?TF jumps w/o a chute you can steer???? This looked like clusterfuck from the gitgo.....

The moron pulled the cut-away first on the right side of his chest, that's why the main is released when the instructor deploys the chute for him. It functioned the way it's supposed to. You can see the instructor trying to direct his hand to his back, where you deploy the main from, but he resists and grabs the cut-away.

how he made it through the half day of instruction in the AFF program without knowing difference between the cutway and main deployment bag is beyond me. You practice the moves dozens of times... you can't mix them up... unless you're this guy.

Yes, the reserve will auto-deploy if you have an AAD, which all student rigs these days do. Once you're below 750ft, and should your speed be greater than 78 miles an hour, the reserve is automatcially deployed, and it flys exactly like the main... with steering toggles and all. If you cut-away before that time, as he unintentionally did, you can pull the metal handle on the left side of your chest to deploy the reserve manually...which is what he eventually did.

Arrendek, I was thinking the same thing as soon as the "victim" said that. It's probably why he got electrocuted since he was aiming for the pole to safely "ground" himself. Hmmmmm....while Wile E. Coyote consistently had bad luck, at least he was smart enough to know how things worked! Definitely EiA classification for this guy.
