After a journalist reported on them, the ALF kidnapped him and branded him with hot iron. He as "ALF" marked across his back now.
Edit: his name is Graham Hall. Picture here.

That's horrible. These people are fucked up, plain and simple.
chilaxe@dgandhi I know a few years ago nearby me in Santa Cruz, CA, A/ELF lit the house of a UCSC professor on fire while he, his wife, and their children were sleeping. I think it was regarded by the police as attempted murder, which seems reasonable.
ALF's spokesman's response was that children of professors are fair game to be murdered: "If their father is willing to continue risking his livelihood in order to continue chopping up animals in a laboratory than his children are old enough to recognize the consequences." http://www.targetofopportunity.com/alf.htm
Mikus_AureliusI'm truly curious. 99% of us will agree this ALF group acts unacceptably. Is the only place calling them out really http://www.targetofopportunity.com: a website as full of far-right hyperbole as it is devoid of external links or sources?
If not, then it would be much more informative to reference a source that inspires some confidence.
If so, then what does it say about our society that the only people calling out the left wing fringe is the right wing fringe?

In reply to your question, perhaps the Left and Right have incentive to not draw attention to those on the wings of their ideology, but I personally think it's best to be first in line to criticize such people, lest their excesses taint our own arguments.

rabidnesssays...Seeing some blatant ignorance here. ALF is a decentralized organization. If it wasn't, they'd be arrested for all the property crime they commit. I could go out right now and commit something in the name of ALF and as long as my action respected ALF's mission goals, my action would be accepted as ALF's. Here is ALF's motto on wikipedia: "Any act that furthers the cause of animal liberation, where all reasonable precautions are taken not to harm human or non-human life, may be claimed as an ALF action."
Soooo... no. No to almost every comment on here.
messengerThis highlights the lunatic fringe of animal activists only. Unfortunately the YouTube title brands (not literally, this time) all animal activists as psychopathic.
