The director of "Bowling for Columbine," a documentary about the 1999 massacre at a Colorado high school, said the president has to be the "leader" on the issue and praised his speech in Aurora, Colo., as "powerful," but added that he wondered what Obama would do if his two daughters had been in the theater where last week's mass shooting took place...".

How would ANY of the mentioned "NRA-approved" gun controls prevented Aurora?

Sorry, but Moores point is not a good one. If Obama's daughters had been killed? Then he'd be personally involved and unable to make a rational, objective decision. It's the same reason the families of murder victims don't get to pass sentences.

Moving this video to Boise_Lib's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.

The final months before the election is not the time to take a strong stance on any issue as polarizing as gun control (or abortion, immigration or taxes for that matter.) Both sides know this as evidenced by the dramatic shift to the center by both parties in the 3rd debate. Moore is a bit of an attention whore for bringing it up.
