Martin Bashir (MSNBC) Kicks GOP Talking Head Off

From HuffPo
MSNBC's Martin Bashir grew heated rather quickly on his show Thursday afternoon.

Bashir interviewed Republican strategist Trey Hardin and asked him to weigh in on recent comments made by Gen. Martin Dempsey on Fox News. Dempsey said he was "disappointed" with a group of veterans who criticized President Obama in a new online documentary.

Not sure it's what I want to see, but at least they had the sense to not show me stuff I didn't want to see. I didn't enjoy the bickering, but I'm glad he didn't get another word in after dismissing General Dempsey because he could put the word "Obama" in the same sentence with him. If that's the best he can muster, you know there is nothing of worth to follow in the interview. If I were in Bashir's place, I'd have said "Oh, fuck you very much, go back to Fox News if you want a circlejerk!" and shut him right off. And that's why I will never be on TV.

To declare high ranking military officials off limits for criticism strikes me as a bit... FOX'ish.

I understand--and if that's all this was I would agree.
But, he wasn't just criticizing the chairman of the joint chiefs--he intimated that the general was ordered by president Obama to say this. This is the type of thing that Fox gets away with all the time.

President George W. Bush also served the United States. Could we not cast aspersions of his work?

If Martin Bashir continues on like this, he's going to find it difficult to find pundits for his show who are willing to withhold their punditry.

And with that, WHAM! A new form of 24/7 journalism is here! Grab all that made the current 24/7 news organizations what they are (sensationalism), then smack them down and kick them off. People will watch that.
