From YT: "Manual Deskterity is a prototype digital drafting table that supports both pen and touch input. We explore a division of labor between pen and touch that flows from natural human skill and differentiation of roles of the hands. We also explore the simultaneous use of pen and touch to support novel compound gestures.
We advocate a division of labor between pen and touch: the pen writes, touch manipulates, and the combination of pen+touch yields new tools. This articulates how our system interprets unimodal pen, unimodal touch, and multimodal pen + touch inputs, respectively. We contribute novel pen + touch gestures that leverage the strengths of both pen and touch; utilizing both modalities to complement one another also enables us to largely sidestep the weaknesses inherent in each modality as well."

Deanosays...I wonder how/when/if they'll integrate this into Courier. You begin to sense you could do marvellous things with something like this.
Deanosays...Yes I'm indulging in obvious baiting
siftbotsays...Moving this video to Deano's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
RedSkysays...Have to admit, this is pretty clever. Pity they killed Courier, it was far more exciting than either the hilariously impotent Kin, or Phone 7, which really, really doesn't need to crowd the market of mobile OSs any further.
RedSkysays...*promote
siftbotsays...Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued - promote requested by RedSky.
kasinatorsays...THIS is what i want. not a crappy ipad rip off I just want this as a commercially available monitor. Not an all in one pc, just a monitor. The cintiq by wacom is the closest, but it has not multitouch, a low resolution, and is expensive. Someone put this in a store already.
pho3n1xsays...@kasinator you can. it's just a Microsoft Surface, and this is a suite they built for it. I understand it's running Vista SP1, and probably a customized gui due to the touch software. that gui however is likely not available without a previously purchased unit. you can try the spare parts link though if you want to try to order just the screen.
