Man Stopped For Jaywalking Suffers Police Abuse

To crack a windshield like that requires extreme force. They were looking to find drugs on Smith, so they used the excuse of jaywalking to allow a stop and search. Apparently since he was still talking they decided a bit of head trauma might help...

Why is jaywalking a reason for arrest? It's not forbidden to cross the street here, in the US you make such a big thing of it - but still - should it not just be a fine, like a parking ticket or something?

They do it right in front of a fucking camera.... could it be any more obvious that they don't fear the consequences of abusing their position?
