Liquid-Based Body Armor

I love the ending. "So-and-so doesn't want to go back to Iraq, but if he has to, maybe this armor will go with him"

Yeah right, they made it an order to wear the less-protective body armour, and also won't pay any death benefits if you wear the better armor you bought yourself, or the wife & kids shipped over to you.

Current body armour is only designed to preserve the wearer's life not to prevent injury to other parts of the body. They figure that you can survive a groin shot (though painful) but if you get shot in the torso then death becomes very likely.

The problem with this new armour at the moment is that even if it absorbs the impact and isn't penetrated, the fabric itself can be forced into the skin and if you get shot in a limb you still won't feel too good. You can see in the demonstration that the fabric still deformed even if it repelled the bullet.
