Lara Logan on Iraq reportage

couplandsays...

From the CBS site: "Logan was born in Durban. She was graduated from the University of Natal in Durban in 1992 with a degree in commerce. She also earned a diploma in French language, culture and history from the Universite de L'Alliance Francaise in Paris. She speaks French, Afrikaans and basic Portuguese." Apparently they forgot English.

Bush is trying to divert attention away from his administration...it's a cheap shot.

I have a feeling he burned his bridge with the media. Maybe they won't continue to be so soft on him.

Snappysays...

You have to salute her for even wanting to be in Iraq, hotel balcony or otherwise. That the other lady on TV was in Iraq for a mere eight days, does that give her (TV lady) the right to start making such condescending statements?

Let's see, where was she during the eight days in Iraq?

I am a South African, and it is awesome to see a fellow South African doing such great things for Journalism. Her integrity is inspiring, and to have some other journalist degrading her and the other journalists in such a way is disgusting.

As I never watch CNN, and for people that live in America, does she always seem to create such a stir with her reporting??

Plus, shes hot

This is emotive but concise journalism at its best. With the hand of big brother media silencing most of the worlds journalists this is what needs to be said. Only a shame that western television stations, particularly where I live in England, don't report on such true reports as Laras.

Keep it real and true and don't be brainwashed and led to believe what most of the media reports, Lara needs to be praised for her tenacity and courage to say what she said.

Peace.

If only we in the US had more reporters like Ms. Logan, this country mightn't be in the state it is. Instead, the media give us spoon-fed pablum and report only that which our government thinks we can handle. Hats off to you, Lara.

alteregosays...

Respect to you Ms.Logan.

This is a quote from Edward Murrow:

I am entirely persuaded that the American public is more reasonable, restrained and more mature than most of our industry's program planners believe. Their fear of controversy is not warranted by the evidence. I have reason to know, as do many of you, that when the evidence on a controversial subject is fairly and calmly presented, the public recognizes it for what it is--an effort to illuminate rather than to agitate.

Several years ago, when we undertook to do a program on Egypt and Israel, well-meaning, experienced and intelligent friends shook their heads and said, "This you cannot do--you will be handed your head. It is an emotion-packed controversy, and there is no room for reason in it." We did the program. Zionists, anti-Zionists, the friends of the Middle East, Egyptian and Israeli officials said, with a faint tone of surprise, "It was a fair account. The information was there. We have no complaints."

SPEAK THE TRUTH SISTER!

This whole video is completely wonderful. I love the truth she speaks. But her closing is perfection: "For Eight Days..."

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

That's a great link ptarr, now we know what she was doing during her 8 days. She seems to be fairly safely surrounded by the US military most of the time.

Lara Logan is hot. Not only is she drop dead pretty, she is smart, she has an acerbic tongue and she tells the truth. Lately, she has been wearing tight tops with a push-up bra that really make her tits looks great. More Iraq stories, please............

ingernetsays...

I wish more people could be this eloquent when they spoke with anger in their voice. Too often people who actually have truthful messages to share are outvoiced by the rage in their presentation...their message is often ignored because their audience can't stomach their anger. My biggest appreciation for Lara Logan's ability to bring light to a difficult topic without alienating her audience.

Would somebody please give Bush a blowjob so we could impeach him?

Spoon_Gougesays...

Wow! I was floored by that report. Forget any attractive factor about her, she was well spoken and pulled no punches. I thought she was about to lash out at her compatriate in the studio at one point!
