After years of denials and stonewalling, there's a new sheriff in town.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna on Thursday ordered his deputies to submit to interviews by the office of Inspector General Max Huntsman related to alleged deputy gangs, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“Please be advised that all Department personnel who received such a request are hereby ordered to appear and cooperate in such interviews. All statements made by Department personnel shall be full, complete, and truthful statements," said Luna in an email that the Times described as "firmly worded."
A statement from the department added that Luna has "remained in communication" with Huntsman's office and he is in favor of the inquiry.
KTLA's Rachel Menitoff reports on May 19, 2023.

newtboysays...LA deputies have long been accused of being a criminal gang, complete with tattoos that indicate their crimes like murder and rape just like other street gangs. The LA Sheriff is finally, after decades of complaints, investigating this matter, but the method of investigating is a near coverup on its face.
Officers involved are ASKED to bring PHOTOS of any gang tattoos they have…but won’t be strip searched to see if they’re lying like citizens are, and won’t have those tattoos documented by the Sheriff like normal citizens do. They are not required to answer questions, and there’s no repercussions for refusing to cooperate.
Sure sounds like another investigation for show that’s not designed to catch the murderous police gangs.
It’s also laughable that they only accused 35 LA police. What nonsense.

cloudballoonsays...The Union's response is ridiculous.
newtboysays...Isn’t it ALWAYS?
Guaranteed they are, at this moment, defending the police that shot an 11 year old child who called them for help …shot while he was following their orders.
The police/prison guard union is the most anti American anti constitutional entity in the USA, the only group that consistently defends the murder of innocent citizens, and is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington.
The Union's response is ridiculous.
moonsammysays...It should not be legal for law enforcement to establish unions, and I'm pro-union. The police are the arm of governmental power, and policing in the US in general can be traced back to union-busting efforts.
If police unions had a history of fighting for issues that benefit society overall my view would likely be different, but they always seem to focus on eliminating accountability and supporting evil assholes.
The police/prison guard union is the most anti American anti constitutional entity in the USA...
