Krakatoa and Naiad Fluid Render - 4 Million Particles

(vimeo) I always wanted to start experimenting with Krakatoa and now I have had the chance!
Inspired by a video by PixelPro I went to work and did the simulation in Naiad. 4 Million particles. I really liked its node based workflow. Inside Max 2012 I used a color by velocity tutorial for the krakatoa render. I used V-Ray 2.2 and Thinkbox Frost for the mesh and I did the compositing inside Nuke.

The V-Ray and Frost render took 3 hours at 1280x720. The Krakatoa pass took 1 1/2 hours at 1280x720.

Naiad simulation time was 12 hours.

I've got an i7 2600K running at 4.6 ghz and 16 gb ram.
