Paybacksays...I feel for him. I constantly get mind-stuck like that. Get locked into a pattern that takes a concerted effort to back out of. Especially if I'm concentrating on, or preoccupied with, something else.
I probably would have figured it out faster and just started being pigheaded about it, though. Then made the joke of when she asked, "what does eYes mean?" I would have replied "the opposite of eNo."
jmdsays...Screw what he is saying, I can't understand what the girl is saying that made it so funny.
ChaosEnginesays...Yeah, there's an old joke which actually got me a few years ago:
Obviously, this is meant to be spoken rather than written.
what does "em eh cee dee oh en eh el dee " spell? MacDonald
what does "em eh cee cee eh are tee haich why " spell? MacCarthy
what does "em eh cee haich eye ehn eee" spell?
Lots of people will say MacHine.

RFlaggsays...Heck, I thanks to the capitalization and her keep getting him off on pronouncing YES... though I did catch on a bit before he did. There's another thing like this where you get people spelling or pronouncing one thing, then switch it up and their mind is stuck on what you had them doing before so their mind is stuck on it, so when you make the switch they keep being stuck with it for a bit until their mind catches up with the switch... can't recall what it is though (another one that doesn't work as well written out as it does in person).
calvadossays...*nsfw cussin'
siftbotsays...Video is already flagged NSFW - ignoring nsfw request by calvados.
JustSayingsays...That wouldn't have worked had she written down the letters. Our brain's pattern recognition may be great but it still messes up a lot. See: Jesus on toast.
siftbotsays...Man loses it over his wife trying to say eyes. has been added as a related post - related requested by ChaosEngine on that post.
