I wonder if they find the bubbles ticklish or something.

You would think the noise from the prop and engine would be irritating, but maybe the curiosity and fun (or predator) factor of a chase outweigh that. Never thought about the bubbles before though.

They do this quite a lot don't they? At least I remember reading an explanation to this behaviour that basically boiled down to "teenage male killer whale hijinks".
